Pat Harris was born in Dublin in 1953 and studied at the National College of Art and Design from 1973 to 1978, where he was awarded a scholarship. His paintings exude a certain quiet beauty and there is simplicity in his work, due to the assuredness and freshness of his paintwork and the subtle suggestive colour changes he uses. Harris is a regular exhibitor at Taylor Galleries, Dublin and The Fenton Gallery, Cork.

The Ghost Orchid is one of the most revered plants in the world and is becoming increasingly rare.
