A pair of very small, pocket or muff percussion pistols by Collins of London. 1.25" barrels of approximately 140 bore. (.321"). Blued barrels, dolphin hammers with sliding top-safeties and folding triggers. Finely chequered bag shaped walnut grips with silver escutcheons. These pistols retain virtually all their original colour case hardening and blueing. Part of the nose of one hammer now broken off. 4.5" long

A pattern 1845 Infantry Officer's Sword. The hilt is the brass half basket 1822 Pattern with a crown over the VR royal cypher as a cartouche badge and has a fold down inner edge. The fold down inner edge indicates manufacture pre 1854. The guard has a sword knot slot near the pommel and the grip is wood covered with fishskin and bound with copper wire. The slightly curved Pattern 1845 blade has a single fuller to each side and is etched for three quarters of the length on both sides and has the VR royal cypher in the centre of each side. Blade 32.5"

A pattern 1827 Rifle Regiment Officer's Sword. The hilt is the half basket 1822 Pattern of gilded brass with stringed bugle as a cartouche badge. The guard has a sword knot slot near the pommel and the grip is fishskin bound with copper wire. The slightly curved blade has a single fuller to each side and is etched for three quarters of the length on both sides and has the VR royal cypher in the centre of the left side and bugle horn to right side. The ricasso is etched with the retailer's name "Z. Read, Ipswich". Blade 33".

A pattern 1821 Volunteer Artillery Officer's Sword in Scabbard. Steel three bar guard with slot for sword knot near the pommel. Wood grip covered in black fishskin and bound with silver wire. The slightly curved, flat backed blade has a single fuller to each side to within 10.25" of the double edged spear point. The blade is etched over two thirds of its length with a foliate design. The right side of the blade is etched "VOLUNTEER ARTILLERY" and the left side with a flaming bomb and artillery piece. The left side of the ricasso is etched with the maker's name "FIRMIN & SONS, 153 STRAND, LONDON". Manufactured 1839. Steel scabbard with two suspension rings. Blade 32".

An Officer's Light Cavalry Sabre in steel scabbard. A variant of the 1796 Pattern light cavalry sabre, this blade has a broad single fuller to each side with a falchion type broadening of the blade to the last 9" which are double edged. The blade is engraved with the cypher and crown of George III on the right side and Prince of Wales feathers and motto to the left. Floral motifs are also engraved on the blade. The hilt is non-standard with a smooth wood grip bearing a gilded white metal shield to each side with the raised bust of a beaded figure in an Etruscan helmet, probably Mars. The stirrup knuckle guard and lions head pommel bear the remains of gilding. Blade 31".
